ATHLETES WORK TOGETHER LIKE A FAMILY!

Whenever I think about Primal, I immediately think dedication, passion and performance. As a parent of an athlete who is a newcomer to Track & Field, I noticed right away how Matt Ellis is determined to help all individuals who attend his gym be successful. Even though the athletes come from all over RI, MA, CT and are in competition with one another, they still work together respectfully and are like a family following the trials and tribulations of each other. It is evident that his passion for the sport is what drives him and that same expectation is transferred to his students in an environment that is conducive to learning and development. Despite Coach Ellis’ tireless efforts at the gym weekly, attending as many various meets as possible on weekends and sharing his knowledge at seminars or camps, he still manages to be considerate, compassionate and willing to communicate his knowledge about his sport. Matt makes demands in a supportive way which allowed my daughter, Katja Neves, to not only want to train but also to achieve fantastic results in her performance which gave her the confidence that she was struggling to find. I am most appreciative to Hope Coach, Tom Spann for referring us to Matt and I can see why he did – excellence knows excellence. We can’t thank you enough Matt! Looking forward to continued success throughout the end of the year.

YOU GAVE HER THE SKILL, STRENGTH, AND CONFIDENCE TO SUCCEED

Thank you Matt!

I sent my daughter to you this summer, as a developing thrower and soon to be sophomore.  She made incredible gains in both strength and technique.  Not all coaches can work well with men, women, boys, and . . . teenage girls.  But you gave her the skill, strength, and confidence to succeed.  For every time you have pushed her to be better and she responded with giving you more; THANK YOU!   Though, it was not intended, she looks up to you as a mentor and strives to do her best to make you proud. You have been an example of hard work and determination with a side of compassion and understanding.  Now as a sophomore and being ranked as number one in the state for indoor shot, I only foresee you being part of her road to New England’s, National’s, and beyond.

IMPROVE YOUR STRENGTHS AND AND ELIMINATE YOUR WEAKNESSES!

I have had many coaches and trainers throughout my sports career. Some have been good, some have been bad, and there have been those few who have left a mark on my life that will never fade. One of those coaches is Coach Matt Ellis at Primal Athlete Training Center. His training is tiring, difficult, and strenuous but each week I look forward to each practice with him. That has never happened on any team that I have ever been on. He has made me physically stronger and faster but also has helped me develop my mental toughness. Coach Ellis is one of those few people in the world who can decipher what a person’s strengths and weaknesses are and improve the strengths and eliminate the weaknesses. I have large goals for my future, goals that stretch far beyond the world of sports, and I believe Coach Ellis is the one who will help me get there.

IN SIX SHORT WEEKS MY SQUAT IMPROVED 50 POUNDS, BENCH WENT UP 15 POUNDS, AND MY DEADLIFT 35 POUNDS

I would just like to say that the last three months at Primal have been a blast. I can feel myself improving week after week in strength and endurance. I was never a great heavy lifter but in six short weeks my squat improved 50 lbs, bench went up 15 lbs, and my deadlift 35 lbs. The training I am doing now will not only help me play better in football and track it helps to keep a routine in the summertime when everyone else is doing nothing. Secondly, the hammer throwing practices have been essential to my formation as a more advanced thrower. Before Primal I was an intermediate, undisciplined thrower without a coach. Now, I can see my progress through our practicing and hard work. As I now approach senior year of high school, the next 12 months are going to be tough and will require hard work. However, I know that the training we do at Primal is the only thing I’ll need to help me through it and to achieve my goals as an offensive lineman, weight thrower, hammer thrower and javelin thrower.

HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS EXACTLY WHAT YOUR TRAINING IS WORTH

Matt,

I just wanted to thank you for all the training you provided me these past few months. Training with you made a HUGE difference in my performance on race day. When training for my second marathon (before this current one), I got injured three weeks before the race and was unable to compete. I know now that the reason I got injured was because of the imbalance of my muscle training. So many runners (myself included) overlook the importance of not only weight training, but PROPER weight training that you provide at Primal. You took the time to give me exercises specifically designed for my event. I don’t know any other gym that has that level of knowledge and specificity.

It’s hard to put into words exactly what your training is worth- what’s it worth getting to the starting line healthy when you look around you and see so many people taped up from head to toe? What is it worth to run up Heartbreak Hill, passing a bunch of people who had to stop? What is it worth getting a 20 minute PR and getting to the finish line with nothing left, but still be healthy enough to get up the next morning and work??

Again, I can’t thank you enough and I’m looking forward to my next marathon and working with you at Primal.

Sincerely,
